As a Tax Senior Associate in the HL&B Tax group, you will be part of a team responsible for tax preparation and review, as well as tax planning, tax accrual, and consulting work with a wide variety of clients across many industry sectors. You will have the opportunity to develop relationships with clients, staff, and management while collaborating tax strategies to benefit our clients.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of income tax and accounting concepts, with the capability to perform research on and effectively apply income and non-income tax knowledge to client situations
  • Develop quality compliance deliverables and tax planning approaches by providing timely and responsive services and work product that meets or exceeds client expectations
  • Perform due diligence, including review of tax returns, financials, and other documentation to evaluate potential tax risks and opportunities
  • Take ownership over managing processes and resources for assigned workstreams, including creating and preserving relevant work products, ensuring supervisors can timely review and provide constructive feedback of deliverables, and otherwise proactively responding to changes in workflow
  • Begin developing and taking responsibility for managing client relationships by communicating and responding to client expectations, gathering data relevant to the engagement, and tailoring project deliverables accordingly
  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff members

 

Minimum Requirements

  • CPA exam eligible
  • 2 – 4 years of professional tax experience, preferably in tax compliance
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial reporting
  • Strong analytical, research organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong sense of personal motivation as well as the ability to work with a team
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting
  • Licensed CPA
  • Prior experience with CCH and Thomson Reuters products, Quickbooks and Caseware
